  * Merge with Debian unstable. Remaining changes:
    - /etc/issue{,.net}, /etc/os-release: Welcome to Stonking Stingray!

    - Various bashrc extensions
    - Do not install /usr/local dirs with staff group writeability

    - Build a motd-news-config package

    - etc/legal: legal notice for Ubuntu
    - add Ubuntu logos and set LOGO=ubuntu-logo in etc/os-release
  * Improve Ubuntu delta:
    - d/rules: Stop installing share/* directly into /usr/share to avoid stray
      duplicate files. Thanks to Finn Rayk Gartner. (LP: #2160023)
    - add RELEASE_TYPE, DOCUMENTATION_URL, VENDOR_NAME, and VENDOR_URL
      to /etc/os-release (LP: #1472288)
    - /etc/dpkg/origins/ubuntu: use https for Vendor-URL
    - update-motd scripts:
      + use os-release (LP: #2008088)
      + fix shellcheck complaints
    - remove maintscript, postinst, and Breaks for moving /e/d/motd-news
      from the base-files to motd-news-config package.
    - remove /etc/lsb-release. lsb-release reads /etc/os-release.
  * debian/base-files.maintscript: remove /etc/lsb-release on upgrades
  * share/profile: quote loop variable (LP: #683311)

base-files (14.2) unstable; urgency=medium

  * Make it easier for derivatives to change the name of the system.
    Thanks to Arnaud Rebillout. Closes: #1111436.
  * Fix copyright-refers-to-symlink-license lintian warning.
  * Fix missing-field-in-dep5-copyright lintian warning.
  * Drop some unused lintian overrides.
