Public bug reported:
trying to generate an image for any currently supported release of
ubuntu fails if the requested arch is i386. the error seems to occur
because package aptitude is not available in those repos, but
automatically selected during image building.
here's the output i get when called from an ubuntu noble 24.04.4 LTS
installation using ubuntu-dev-tools 0.201ubuntu2:
```
[...]
Processing triggers for libc-bin (2.39-0ubuntu8.7) ...
Reading package lists...
Building dependency tree...
Reading state information...
Package aptitude is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
However the following packages replace it:
aptitude-common
E: Package 'aptitude' has no installation candidate
```
with debian trixie i do not run into this issue (i.e., on ubuntu noble i
can create an i386 image for debian trixie).
please either add the missing package back to the i386 repos, or adjust
the respective package dependencies accordingly.
