I can confirm that this crash occurred repeatedly during GNOME Remote Login
session setup/handover on
Ubuntu 26.04.

The observed stack matches this report:

source_get_fd()
ei_send_message()
ei_connection_request_sync()
ei_connection_sync()
I built a local gnome-remote-desktop 50.0 package with additional serialization
around libei dispatch/event
operations and checks before using absolute-pointer emulation. With the same
system and Remote Login
workflow, the repeated gnome-remote-desktop/libei crash stopped occurring.

This is independent of the separate NVIDIA GNOME Shell rendering crash
tracked in bug #2162030.

I have retained the local source changes and can provide a minimal patch after
separating and reviewing the
relevant changes.
