Hi, regarding recovery and boot modes are not related to this package. I'm a Cinnamon maintainer on Debian (from which it gets its Ubuntu packages), and I also tested Ubuntu a bit in past, especially on the LTS releases, as I used it on my PCs. Unfortunately, they've made Ubuntu too bad with too many snap packages, even in system components. In addition to that, in Ubuntu 26.04 they even replaced the coreutils with the Rust remake, when was is still too raw and buggy. (This seems absurd to me for an LTS release, and they should have at least postponed it to 26.10 and then, in theory, made it fully functional in the next LTS.) So I haven't even tested Ubuntu 26.04 at all.
Regarding the use of Cinnamon with other installed environments, I noticed that using gdm as the login manager caused problems because, unfortunately, gdm would start GNOME components before logging in, which may also be the cause of this bug.
