After upgrading to Ubuntu HWE kernels 7.0.0-27 and 7.0.0-28 the system consistently fails during graphical startup. The boot sequence is: - GRUB menu appears normally. - Ubuntu/Linux Mint splash screen appears. - The display then turns completely black. - No graphical login screen appears. - No visible TTY is available. - The machine does not recover. Booting the previous kernel immediately restores normal operation. Regression ========== Working kernel: - 6.17.0-41-generic + 6.17.0-41-generic Broken kernels: - 7.0.0-27-generic - 7.0.0-28-generic + 7.0.0-27-generic + 7.0.0-28-generic Expected Result =============== The graphical login screen should appear normally. Actual Result ============= The display remains permanently black after the splash screen. Additional Information ====================== Kernel logs show that both the AMD and NVIDIA drivers initialize successfully and LightDM starts, but no graphical session becomes visible.
