Public bug reported:

Since updating from the 6.8 kernel to the HWE 7.0 kernel, the machine no
longer powers off completely. The operating system shuts down, but the
motherboard and system fans remain powered on until I force the machine
off by holding the power button.

The journal shows userspace shutdown completing cleanly — systemd
reaches poweroff.target, syncs, and hands over to the kernel. The hang
happens after logging stops, in the kernel's final ACPI power-off path.

I found that unloading the mt7921e module before shutting down
consistently avoids the issue.

sudo modprobe -r mt7921e && sudo systemctl poweroff

Best regards,
Lorenzo
