Public bug reported:

Regression in kernel 7.0.0-28 on HP Pavilion Power 15-cb0xx

Hardware:

HP Pavilion Power 15-cb0xx
Intel HD Graphics 630 (i915)
NVIDIA GTX 1050 Mobile

Ubuntu 26.04 LTS

Regression:

Kernel 6.17.0-23: display brightness works correctly and suspend/resume works
correctly.
Kernel 7.0.0-28: brightness slider changes
/sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness, but the LCD brightness never
changes. After suspend, the system resumes but the internal display remains
black.

Regression confirmed by booting both kernels on the same installation.

** Affects: linux (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
