Description
Ubuntu version: 26.04 LTS (Resolute)
Hardware: Dell Latitude 7290
After installing a Dell firmware update ("Latitude 7x90 System Update"),
Ubuntu Software displays an informational notification at every login
stating that an important system update has been installed.
The notification appears for a few seconds and disappears automatically.
It is purely informational and does not prompt for any action.
The firmware update completed successfully and there are no pending
firmware updates.
Expected behaviour
The notification should be shown only once after the firmware update
completes.
Actual behaviour
The same notification is shown on every login.
Verified
fwupdmgr get-updates reports No updates available.
System Firmware reports Update State: Success.
Current BIOS version is 1.44.0.
Removing the firmware-updater snap does not change the behaviour.
Clearing GNOME Software caches does not change the behaviour.
No PackageKit offline update marker files are present.
The notification window title is Ubuntu Software.
journalctl shows gnome-software starting immediately before the notification
appears.
