## Problem
The internal speakers of my Lenovo Legion Y9000P IAX10H are extremely
quiet and sound thin, with almost no bass, even when the system volume
is set to 100%.
Headphones and external audio devices work normally. The problem appears
to affect only the built-in speakers.

## Observed behaviour
The internal speakers produce sound, but the volume is unusually low and
the audio lacks bass. Raising the volume to 100% does not restore normal
speaker output.
The output of `/proc/asound/cards` shows the NVIDIA HDMI device and
Intel PCH HDA device. The Realtek ALC287 codec is detected.
The ACPI device `AWDZ8399:00` is present, and the generic
`snd_soc_aw88399` module exists and is loaded. However, the module has
no bound users, and there are no AW88399 probe, firmware-loading or
amplifier-binding messages in `dmesg`.
The current Ubuntu kernel contains:
`CONFIG_SND_SOC_AW88399=m`
but does not appear to contain the AW88399 HDA side-codec modules
required to bind the smart amplifiers to the Realtek HDA codec.
No files matching `*aw88399*` are present under `/lib/firmware`.

## Expected behaviour
All built-in speakers, including the speakers connected through the
AW88399 smart amplifiers, should be initialized and produce normal
volume and bass.
## Additional information
The problem is reproducible after a clean reboot.
No third-party audio or AW88399 DKMS module is currently installed. A
community DKMS experiment was completely removed before this report was
generated. The package database is clean, and only the official Ubuntu
kernel and audio modules are active.
Please consider adding or backporting the required AW88399 HDA side-
codec support, Realtek ALC287 machine quirk for Lenovo product 83F4 /
subsystem 17aa:3907, and the required firmware support.
