Downgrading to an older version of 'linux-firmware' (see above) resolves the issue. Booting to the integrated (Intel) GPU works around the issue. Attached is what I believe to be the most relevant section of the system logs (via 'journalctl') and 3 GDM initialization failures as well as a picture of my device when the error is observed. + + [1] 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation AD104GLM [RTX + 3500 Ada Generation Laptop GPU] (rev a1) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2148510 Title: [HP ZBook Fury 16 G11 Mobile Workstation PC] Boot hangs initializing GDM on NVIDIA dGPU with nouveau drivers To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-firmware/+bug/2148510/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
