Hello! Thanks for reporting a bug. It looks much alike an issue which we've been able to fix a few days ago and will be included in kernel 7.0.0-31.
To make sure you are hitting the same issue, there are two ways: 1. Follow the test which I've described in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2161309/comments/10 2. Update kernel via -proposed repository and check whether you are running 7.0.0-31 version. Obviously, check brightness control in both of these cases and revert any extra boot params you have added.
