Public bug reported:
Réponse à formuler pour Timo sur Launchpad :
You were right to question this — I confirmed with dpkg -S that the
Kabini microcode files belong to linux-firmware-amd-graphics, not
linux-firmware-misc, and that package was not touched that day.
I also checked /var/log/dpkg.log more carefully and found that
linux-firmware-misc was the only package that changed. However, I
noticed that both the original upgrade AND my later downgrade each
triggered a dracut run (regenerating the initramfs). This suggests
the actual fix may have been the initramfs regeneration itself, not
the specific package version. I likely had a stale/corrupted initramfs
that got refreshed as a side effect of any package change triggering
dracut, unrelated to the firmware content.
I'd suggest this bug may not be a real linux-firmware-misc regression
— apologies for the false lead. Happy to test further if useful, e.g.
running update-initramfs -u without changing the firmware package
version, to confirm.
Si tu veux vraiment clore la question proprement, tu pourrais faire un
test propre : remets 0ubuntu2.2 (sudo apt-mark unhold linux-firmware-
misc && sudo apt install linux-firmware-misc), puis lance juste sudo
update-initramfs -u sans changer la version, redémarre, et regarde si le
problème réapparaît ou pas. Ça confirmerait ou infirmerait l'hypothèse
dracut de façon définitive.
