Also affected on Ubuntu 26.04 (Resolute) with cloud-init 26.1-0ubuntu3~26.04.1 from resolute-updates.
Worth noting this is not limited to a direct Noble→Resolute upgrade. This system was serially upgraded (originally 19.04, most recently into Resolute on 2026-05-22, via Noble and Plucky). The stale /etc/logrotate.d/cloud-init is dated Apr 2024 — Noble-era — and survived every subsequent release upgrade. Both files are byte-identical, and dpkg lists the old path as an obsolete conffile of the cloud-init metapackage. logrotate.service has exited 1 on every daily run since. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2152107 Title: Cloud-init logrotate config duplicated after Noble to Resolute upgrade To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cloud-init/+bug/2152107/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
