Public bug reported: On a thinkpad T500 with an AES2550 fingerprint reader, fprintd intermittently hangs. It seems this is a known bug in libfprint, a 'tap' handler is missing a function call which leaves the fprintd hung. This prevents the fingerprint reader from working until the fprintd is killed and restarted. This also causes a 30 second delay in rebooting (as systemd waits for it to stop).
The latest v1.94.100 https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/libfprint/libfprint/-/releases/v1.94.100 fixes the bug. Any chance of it being backported to Ubuntu 26.04 LTS?
