I think it works fine now with 7.0.0-29 and these added to the GRUB default "amdgpu.ppfeaturemask=0xf7fff amdgpu.mes=0 amdgpu.cwsr_enable=0". For me without the ppfeaturemask, Ubuntu wasn't usable at all with Wayland or X11 either. I have disabled the hardware acceleration for all Chromium-based apps and browsers.
