Also affected: RX 7900 XT Navi 31, Ubuntu 26.04, kernel 7.0.0-30. Symptom: intermittent shutdown hang — fans spin up at full speed, power button does nothing, must force-off 4s. Same on 7.0.0-28/29/30. 7.0.0-27 is reliable (matches the original report).
This is the known amdgpu ISM dc_lock ABBA deadlock in the shutdown/suspend path. AMD's fix already exists upstream: drm/amd/display: Fix ISM dc_lock deadlock during suspend (amdgpu_dm_ism_disable / force_full_power split, by Ray Wu/Ivan Lipski, merged for 7.2.x). It is not in 7.0.0-31.31 (checked the changelog). Please backport it to the resolute 7.0 kernel. Confirmed by me: e.g. 10/10 shutdowns OK on -27 vs. hangs on -30. Happy to test a proposed kernel once the patch is in its changelog. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2161821 Title: amdgpu: RX 7900 XTX fans spin in S5 (soft-off) regression in 7.0.0-28, 7.0.0-27 good To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2161821/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
