(I am the initial reporter and I still have a Huawei Matebook D14 AMD)

Using Ubuntu 26.04 LTS (kernel 7.0.0-29-generic #29-Ubuntu SMP
PREEMPT_DYNAMIC), with Ubuntu-MATE:
I do have some problems, but there are reversed compared to your report:
- Audio on built-in laptop speakers DOES work.
- Audio on headphones connected to the jack output DOES NOT work.

The word SUSPENDED does not seem to indicate any problem, just that the
device is not being used.

1) when I am not playing music:
$ pactl list short sinks
56      alsa_output.pci-0000_04_00.1.pro-output-3       PipeWire        s32le
2ch 48000Hz       SUSPENDED
57      alsa_output.pci-0000_04_00.1.pro-output-7       PipeWire        s32le
8ch 48000Hz       SUSPENDED
58      alsa_output.pci-0000_04_00.1.pro-output-8       PipeWire        s32le
8ch 48000Hz       SUSPENDED
248
alsa_output.pci-0000_04_00.5-platform-acp3x-es83xx.HiFi__Headphones__sink
PipeWire        s32le 2ch 48000Hz       SUSPENDED

2) when I am playing music on the loudspeaker (work correctly):
$ pactl list short sinks
56      alsa_output.pci-0000_04_00.1.pro-output-3       PipeWire        s32le
2ch 48000Hz       SUSPENDED
57      alsa_output.pci-0000_04_00.1.pro-output-7       PipeWire        s32le
8ch 48000Hz       SUSPENDED
58      alsa_output.pci-0000_04_00.1.pro-output-8       PipeWire        s32le
8ch 48000Hz       SUSPENDED
248
alsa_output.pci-0000_04_00.5-platform-acp3x-es83xx.HiFi__Headphones__sink
PipeWire        s32le 2ch 48000Hz       RUNNING

3) my devices are (the relevant one is the last one):
$ aplay -l
**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 0: Generic [HD-Audio Generic], device 3: HDMI 0 [HDMI 0]
  Subdevices: 1/1

I see the following when looking at mate-volume-control, and qashctl
(QasHctl) for mixer device "acp3x-es83xx":

- when inserting a Jack plug: the output peripheral automatically switches from
"Audio Coprocessor Speakers" to "Renoir/Cezanne HDMI/DP Audio Controller Pro"
To make the sound work on the jack output, I need to do the following:
 1) select again "Audio Coprocessor Speakers" in mate-volume-control
 2) in qashctl, check again "Speaker switch / 0" (which goes unchecked) =>
this sends sound to the loudspeakers
 3) in qashctl, check then uncheck again "Headphone switch / 0" => sound now
goes to headphone

- when removing the jack plug: if the output peripheral was previously set to
"Audio Coprocessor Speakers", then it switches to "Renoir/Cezanne HDMI/DP Audio
Controller Pro" (it seems impossible to set both loudspeakers and headphone to
"Audio Coprocessor Speakers")
The make to sound work on the loudspeakers again, I just need to:
 1) select again "Audio Coprocessor Speakers" in mate-volume-control

Regarding the settings in QasHctl, the summary is:
- "Speaker Switch / 0" unchecked => no output
- "Speaker Switch / 0" checked => some output
  - "Headphone Switch / 0" unchecked => output is to headphone
  - "Headphone Switch / 0" checked => output is to loudspeakers
This looks somewhat buggy, but I am not sure it is a regression: I do not use
the jack output.
