Public bug reported:

Symptom: an opaque solid-color or striped rectangle over half of the screen,
windows go under it, mouse cursor still draws on top of the rectangle.
It moved between monitors and changed color (red on one, green on the other) in
case i removed one of the monitors.
Switching to a tty hung the machine, requiring a hard reset
Reproduced identically on 7.0.0-30, 7.0.0-28, and 6.8.0-138 most probably not a
kernel regression
Clean in BIOS, clean in a 26.04 live session, clean in Windows, and monitor
self-test clean therefore not hardware
Downgrading linux-firmware 0ubuntu2.29 → 0ubuntu2.26 with an initramfs rebuild
fixed it completely
Two LG monitors directly connected to video card (PowerColor Red Devil RX 6900
XT Ultimate) via display port cables.
