Both reports show the exact same failure signature: - kernel BUG at fs/iomap/buffered-io.c:1061 - iomap_write_end+0x1ea/0x1f0 - write path through ntfs_file_write_iter [ntfs3] - subsequent operations stuck permanently in D-state at vfs_unlink This report also confirms that the problem remains present in Ubuntu 7.0.0-30-generic. The likely upstream fix is commit 70d3855594cf6e8791970714b65cac3202d6160e: ntfs3: Allocate iomap inline_data using alloc_page https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=70d3855594cf6e8791970714b65cac3202d6160e Could an Ubuntu kernel maintainer please confirm and mark this as a duplicate of LP: #2161222? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2164965 Title: ntfs3/iomap kernel BUG in iomap_write_end during Git clone on 7.0.0-30-generic To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-hwe-7.0/+bug/2164965/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
