It seems the previously saved configuration had a bug, and currently, the APN
setting in the control panel isn't being linked to the Advanced Network
Settings app. But now it works; I removed the existing APNs and created a new
one through the control panel, in the Mobile Network tab, because when
configured through the Advanced Network Settings app, it didn't appear in the
APN list when the modem started and prompted the user to select the APN.

Parece que a configuração salva anteriormente estava com um bug e, atualmente,
a configuração do APN no painel de controle não está sendo vinculada ao
aplicativo Configurações Avançadas de Rede. Mas agora funciona; removi os APNs
existentes e criei um novo pelo painel de controle, na aba Rede Móvel, porque,
quando configurado pelo aplicativo Configurações Avançadas de Rede, ele não
aparecia na lista de APNs quando o modem iniciava e solicitava ao usuário que
selecionasse o APN.
Então caso resolvido.
