Title: 7.0.0-30-generic causes ATA host-bus errors and ext4 journal
aborts on MacBookPro11,4; 6.8.0-138 is stable
After upgrading from Ubuntu 24.04 to Ubuntu 26.04.1, the system began
intermittently booting into BusyBox/initramfs with “UNEXPECTED
INCONSISTENCY.” Running fsck allowed it to boot, but the filesystem
later became read-only again during normal use.
System:
* Model: MacBookPro11,4
* Storage: APPLE SSD SM0256G, firmware BXZ13A0Q
* Root filesystem: ext4 on /dev/sda2
* Failing kernel: 7.0.0-30-generic
* Stable comparison kernel: 6.8.0-138-generic
On 7.0.0-30, running `sudo apt update` produced read and write failures,
link resets, an aborted ext4 journal, and a read-only remount. Relevant
kernel log lines:

I then booted 6.8.0-138-generic from GRUB and repeated `sudo apt
update`. It completed without storage errors. `dmesg` remained free of
ATA, FPDMA, I/O, ext4, and link-reset errors.
SMART data is clean: SMART overall status PASSED;
Reallocated_Sector_Ct=0; Current_Pending_Sector=0;
UDMA_CRC_Error_Count=0; no errors in the SMART error log.
This appears to be a regression or compatibility issue in the 7.0
AHCI/NCQ path on this Apple hardware. I have retained 6.8.0-138 as the
default kernel and have not tested 7.0 with NCQ disabled yet.
