I'm going to set the stonking task to "in progress" as well, and upload
the fix there.

Technically, this isn't required: systems upgrading to stonking can only
do so from resolute (as the prior LTS) which should already have "fixed"
the armhf sources. However, the only sane way of dealing with the
horrible number of scenarios and edge cases here was to write the code
generically. Thus, the fix will also be useful if, in future, we perform
such a partial transition again so I'm keen to get the fix into the
ubuntu/main branch to just ensure it's easily available in future.
