**Description:**
An available package update for "Settings" (Definições) is displayed in
the update manager GUI, but clicking the update button has no effect.
The process fails silently without prompting for authentication,
displaying an error banner, or advancing the update progress.
**Steps to Reproduce:**
1. Open the Update Manager / App Center on Ubuntu 26.04.
2. Observe the pending update for **Settings** (`1:50.3-0ubuntu0.1` →
`1:50.3-0ubuntu0.2`).
3. Click the "Atualizar" (Update) button.
**Expected Behavior:**
The system prompts for authentication (if required), downloads and
unpacks the package, and removes it from the pending updates list.
**Actual Behavior:**
Nothing happens. The UI remains static, no background installation
starts, and the item stays persistently listed as unapplied.

repetidas tentativas.
**Passos para reproduzir:**
1. Abrir o gerenciador de atualizações / App Center.
2. Localizar o item "Definições" com versão de destino `1:50.3-0ubuntu0.2`.
3. Clicar no botão "Atualizar".
**Resultado esperado:** Instalação do pacote e desaparecimento do aviso.
**Resultado obtido:** Falha silenciosa; a ação não é iniciada.
