Thanks for the details.

This is a Major bug , making hundreds of client machines unbootable
because of outdated DKMS driver

This was not happening around kernel 6.14 update in 2025 so a major
change was introduced to produce this behaviour

We at least need a "Hotfix" in Ubuntu packages to avoid this behaviour.
