Yeah, I think in the end I'm going to port both these patches to 6.8 as they seem to be closely related with reported problem. Especially it's not anything which reproduces in 5 minutes but rather takes days. It would be good to have an indication which one of these is more likely to be a fix here or whether both are needed actually.
