Lubuntu Stonking login screen after install shows Wayland as default

After installation and reboot the login screen appears with Wayland as the
default(i.e. the user would need to select Lubuntu for X11)
Also note that the Layout is also incorrect ??zz on the login screen
(previously reported bug 2163472
