It seems that the autopkgtest infrastructure includes `sos` for running in VMs, but not `sosreport`.
https://git.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-release/autopkgtest- cloud/+git/autopkgtest-package-configs/tree/vm_packages#n188 The autopkgtests for sosreport on jammy and noble now produce "neutral" instead of a "pass". https://autopkgtest.ubuntu.com/results/autopkgtest- noble/noble/amd64/s/sosreport/20260722_202722_073a3@/log.gz 49s autopkgtest [20:27:20]: testing package sosreport version 4.11.2-0ubuntu0~24.04.1 50s simple.sh SKIP Test restriction "isolation-machine" requires testbed capability "isolation-machine" 50s autopkgtest [20:27:21]: build not needed 50s simple.sh SKIP Test restriction "isolation-machine" requires testbed capability "isolation-machine" 50s autopkgtest [20:27:21]: @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ summary 50s simple.sh SKIP Test restriction "isolation-machine" requires testbed capability "isolation-machine" 50s simple.sh SKIP Test restriction "isolation-machine" requires testbed capability "isolation-machine" https://autopkgtest.ubuntu.com/results/autopkgtest- jammy/jammy/amd64/s/sosreport/20260722_201933_d1721@/log.gz 84s dpkg-source: warning: cannot verify signature ./sosreport_4.11.2-0ubuntu0~22.04.1.dsc 84s autopkgtest [20:19:30]: testing package sosreport version 4.11.2-0ubuntu0~22.04.1 85s simple.sh SKIP Test restriction "isolation-machine" requires testbed capability "isolation-machine" 85s autopkgtest [20:19:31]: build not needed 85s simple.sh SKIP Test restriction "isolation-machine" requires testbed capability "isolation-machine" 85s autopkgtest [20:19:31]: @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ summary 85s simple.sh SKIP Test restriction "isolation-machine" requires testbed capability "isolation-machine" 85s simple.sh SKIP Test restriction "isolation-machine" requires testbed capability "isolation-machine" I would be a lot more confident if the autopkgtests ran on jammy and noble. Please open a merge request for https://git.launchpad.net/~ubuntu- release/autopkgtest-cloud/+git/autopkgtest-package- configs/tree/vm_packages#n188 to include sosreport, likely in another LP bug. Then the next SRU will get run with this, and make things easier for everyone, and you get better test coverage. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2156921 Title: [sru] sos upstream 4.11.2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sos/+bug/2156921/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
