+ This was Ubuntu only and broken just because no one was willing to update it.
+ Instead of a blunt removal (MAAS tells me they still use it) update it to the
most recent version. I'm not adopting full maintainership, but tried to clean
+ up the packaging and move to a new version.

+ - match the latest upstream
+ - have some minor packaging improvements applied
