Just ran `sudo apport-collect 2167666` as requested - new
hardware/kernel/package attachments should
now be on this bug. Adding context for two fresh suspend hangs today that
prompted that (system
otherwise unchanged since the original report): Ubuntu 26.04.1 LTS, kernel
7.0.0-31-generic.

Both hangs match the "(b) NO PRECURSOR" pattern described in the attached
notes.txt, not the
WiFi-crash-adjacent pattern - and both occurred with both existing mitigations
(d3cold_allowed=0 on
0000:00:14.3, and a delay-inhibitor daemon that unloads iwlwifi before
NetworkManager's sleep teardown) confirmed active and working correctly.
Neither helped.

Hang 1: 2026-09-22 17:07:38 JST (08:07:38 UTC)

- systemd-logind requested suspend; the WiFi-unload daemon ran cleanly
(modprobe -r iwlwifi -> rc=0, confirmed unloaded, delay inhibitor released in
time)
- NetworkManager and the GNOME session both tore down normally for sleep
- No iwlwifi crash (no "Microcode SW error", no "ADVANCED_SYSASSERT")
anywhere earlier in this ~2.5 hour boot - this was the boot's first and only
suspend attempt
- Last log line: kernel: PM: suspend entry (s2idle) - nothing else
ever logged. Screen went black, power LED stayed lit, unresponsive, required
a forced power-off.

Hang 2: 2026-09-22 17:16:00 JST (08:16:00 UTC), ~8 minutes after
rebooting from Hang 1

- Same sequence: suspend requested, WiFi-unload daemon completed
  cleanly again, NetworkManager/GNOME teardown normal
- Again zero iwlwifi crashes anywhere in this (short, ~6 minute) boot
- Again ends dead at kernel: PM: suspend entry (s2idle), same symptom, same
forced power-off

Two back-to-back no-precursor hangs on two consecutive boots (i.e. the
very next suspend attempt after recovering from the first one also hung,
immediately) is a higher failure rate than the recent baseline for this pattern.
Posting the exact sequencing in case it's useful alongside the fresh
apport-collect data.

  Intel AX211 (0000:00:14.3) iwlwifi firmware crash (ADVANCED_SYSASSERT)
after resume causes s2idle suspend to hang; does not reproduce on
