the DKMS
nvidia module (nvidia-driver-580, 580.159.03), every boot logs a kernel

Context that is likely relevant: the kernel command line includes
`mitigations=off`.
The same system, same nvidia-driver-580 DKMS build, and the same
`mitigations=off`
cmdline on linux-image-6.17.0-40-generic produces NO such warning. So either
the 7.0
kernel changed return-thunk patching behaviour under mitigations=off for
out-of-tree
modules, or the warning is newly (perhaps intentionally) surfaced — in which
case it may
still deserve suppression for this configuration, since the taint/WARN fires
on every
boot with no user-visible malfunction (nvidia module works normally
afterwards).
