Public bug reported:
After in place upgrading Ubuntu 24.04 to 25.10, the kvm switch was not
recognized correctly. The video works, but the mouse and keyboard are
not recognized. Then a fresh install of Ubuntu 26.04 was done, with the
same result.
I reported this to Ubuntu support as case #: 00448955
The support tech summarized the findings as:
1. From logs, it looks like the kvm is correctly recognized by kernel as input
devices, but subsequently gnome-shell could not find them, resulting in kernel
driver's repeatedly creating new input devices.
2. there is a problem somewhere before the device is even handed to
system-logind or libinput.
