Public bug reported: The current version of gDDCcontrol in the repositories is highly outdated (Version 0.4.x / 1.0.3) and relies on older, deprecated libraries.
The upstream project has moved to a modern repository (https://github.com/ddccontrol/ddccontrol) which includes complete GTK 3 integration, major stability fixes, and crucial hardware support for modern monitors. Many modern displays are completely undetected by the version currently packaged in the Ubuntu repositories. Kindly sync or package the latest upstream release.
