Public bug reported: When clicking on the icon of a freshly launched pinned app on the dock, the click action of Minimize/Unminimize does not trigger. Only after manually minimizing the window first allows me to do so.
Did some research and found these: https://github.com/micheleg/dash-to-dock/issues/2324 - issue in dash-to- dock repository, which I assume what ubuntu is using. The OP in the video does not seem to be using Ubuntu per the looks, but I can confirm that in my system the behaviour is the same. That issue has a reference to a fork's issue tracker, https://github.com/dmzoneill-forks/xdock/issues/122 - which references a fix commit at https://github.com/dmzoneill- forks/xdock/commit/4d40752d633204e9a8907b5f7831a0a27b9a6cf8 - so perhaps Ubuntu can pick up the same fix, or swap over to that fork. In the video, I launch the pinned Nautilus file viewer application from the dock, and click on it's dock icon trying to minimize it multiple times - nothing happens. After I click on the Minimize button on the top right of the nautilus Window, clicking on the dock icon of Nautilus now starts correctly minimizing and unminimizing the application. I highly believe this the same issue reported in the dash-to-dock GitHub repository and that the fix commit from the fork has potential to fix the issue, but feel free to correct me if this a different issue. Sorry for the low quality on the video. Let me know if any other information is needed. I'm down to test an update from -proposed repository if a fix for this is implemented. Thanks for reading!
