When installing linux-objects-nvidia-580-open-6.8.0-146-generic from
noble-proposed (after linux-modules-nvidia-580-open-6.8.0-146-generic
was already installed), dpkg fails with:
dpkg: error processing archive

(--unpack):
trying to overwrite
'/lib/modules/6.8.0-146-generic/kernel/nvidia-580-open/nvidia-drm.ko', which is
also in package linux-modules-nvidia-580-open-6.8.0-146-generic 6.8.0-146.146+1
The same conflict occurs for nvidia-modeset.ko, nvidia-peermem.ko,
nvidia-uvm.ko, and nvidia.ko — both packages appear to ship identical
copies of the same five kernel module files for this kernel version,
causing dpkg to refuse the second install.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Enable noble-proposed
2. sudo apt install linux-modules-nvidia-580-open-6.8.0-146-generic
linux-objects-nvidia-580-open-6.8.0-146-generic
3. Installation of the second package fails with the file-overwrite conflict
above.
Workaround used: sudo apt install -o Dpkg::Options::="--force-overwrite"
