Public bug reported:
After installing "iverilog" via apt on Ubuntu 26.04.1 LTS, the package
creates the file "/usr/bin/iverilog-vpi". The generated file contains
the following "CFLAGS" and "CXXFLAGS":
CFLAGS="-fPIC -Wall -Wextra -Wshadow -Wstrict-prototypes -g -O2
-Werror=implicit-function-declaration -fno-omit-frame-pointer
-mno-omit-leaf-frame-pointer 0-3 -I/usr/include/iverilog"
CXXFLAGS="-fPIC -Wall -Wextra -Wshadow -g -O2 -fno-omit-frame-pointer
-mno-omit-leaf-frame-pointer 0-3 -std=c++11 -I/usr/include/iverilog"
The problem is the unexpected "0-3".
When "iverilog-vpi" is executed, "cc" interprets "0-3" as a linker input
file. This results in the following error:
cc: warning: 0-3: linker input file unused because linking not done
cc: error: 0-3: linker input file not found: Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht
gefunden
Removing "0-3" allows "iverilog-vpi" to compile successfully.
We encounteres this issue while running:
fusesoc run --target sim minsoc-rv --elf_load ./minsoc-
rv/sw/uart/firmware.elf --vcd
With the Results (trimmed to the error message):

We only found this affected version
* Ubuntu: 26.04.1 LTS
* Icarus Verilog: `12.0-3`
The issue could not be reproduced on Ubuntu 24.04 Systems with Icarus Verilog
12.0-2build2.
We could repuduce this problem on multiple, different Ubuntu 26.04
Machines. We only tryed c files and not cxx files. But we assume that
cxx files has the same Problem with the 0-3 in the "CXXFLAGS" as shown
in the start.
