Ubuntu release: 26.04 (upgrading from 24.04.3 LTS "Noble Numbat")

What I expected: the upgrade from Kubuntu 24.04 to 26.04 to calculate
and proceed normally, as advertised for LTS-to-LTS upgrades.
What happened instead: the upgrade calculation fails with "E:Unable to
correct problems, you have held broken packages." The dependency
resolver cannot reconcile the Plasma 5 to Plasma 6 transition for
several KDE packages.
Key conflicts from apt.log:
- Broken libktextaddons-data:amd64 Breaks on libkf5textaddons-data:amd64 <
1.5.3-0ubuntu3 @ii mK >
- This cascades through the entire KDE PIM stack: libkf5textemoticonswidgets1,
libkpim5mailtransport5, libkpim6mailtransport6, libkpim6akonadicalendar6,
kdepim-runtime, korganizer, kalendarac, etc.
- kubuntu-desktop:amd64 also depends on pipewire-audio:amd64, which is not
resolvable.
This looks related to bug #2146811, which was marked as a duplicate of
bug #2146635. However, #2146635 only addressed the systemd-
coredump/drkonqi issue and was confirmed (comment #5 on that bug) NOT to
fix the upgrade failure. The libktextaddons-data/KDE PIM conflict
described here appears to be a distinct, unresolved issue.
I have removed all third-party PPAs and unofficial packages (Remmina
PPA, Proton VPN GitLab repo) before attempting the upgrade, per the
release-upgrader's own recommendation, and the failure persists
identically.
