Same machine here: ThinkPad P1 Gen 7 (21KV), Core Ultra 9 185H,
Meteor Lake-P 8086:7d55 + RTX 3000 Ada, Ubuntu 24.04 HWE.
Hit the same black eDP after long s2idle on 7.0.0-30 (DDI BUF A timeouts,
i915.enable_psr=0 doesn't help). 6.17.0-35 is fine, so I'm pinned to it.
Please consider an SRU of upstream commit
062499cc4813 ("drm/i915/mtl+: Enable PPS before PLL", Cc: stable v7.0+)
to the noble HWE 7.0 kernel and to resolute. It currently blocks upgrading
this model to 26.04.
