Public bug reported:
Ubuntu release: 26.04.1 LTS arm64 (affected device); Ubuntu devel source
version 20 inspected at commit eb0004e5dd3cd74c5cd62a1f19ac1e3b06f520bd.
Installed package: qcom-firmware-extract 17.
Device tracker: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-concept/+bug/2169090
Expected behavior
On the Snapdragon X Plus HP OmniBook 5 Laptop 16-bf0xxx, qcom-firmware-
extract should recognize /proc/device-tree/model "HP OmniBook 5" and
build the GPU/ADSP/CDSP firmware package under:
/usr/lib/firmware/updates/qcom/x1p42100/hp/omnibook-5
Actual behavior
Ubuntu devel qcom-firmware-extract version 20 rejects the model as
unsupported. Its existing extraction list already contains the files
required by this device, including qcdxkmsucpurwa.mbn, so only the model
mapping is missing.
Proposed fix
Add this case to qcom-firmware-extract:
"HP OmniBook 5")
device_path="x1p42100/hp/omnibook-5"
;;
The mapping was checked against /proc/device-tree/model on the physical
laptop and against the firmware path used by its working device tree.
The Wi-Fi board-2.bin is a separate packaging/licensing issue and is not
included in this change.
