Public bug reported:

The end-to-end tests in Noble have been failing consistently in authd,
as discussed in https://github.com/canonical/authd/issues/2040

Upon further investigation, the issue seems to affect gnome-shell from the
archive as well, It breaks Wayland sessions on machines without GPU
acceleration.

I was able to reproduce locally on a `virt-manager` VM:

Upgrade mesa to the following versions (The package is currently being
phased)

```
sudo apt-get install \
  libgl1-mesa-dri=25.2.8-0ubuntu0.24.04.3 \
  libegl-mesa0=25.2.8-0ubuntu0.24.04.3 \
  libgbm1=25.2.8-0ubuntu0.24.04.3 \
  libglx-mesa0=25.2.8-0ubuntu0.24.04.3 \
  mesa-libgallium=25.2.8-0ubuntu0.24.04.3 \
  mesa-vulkan-drivers=25.2.8-0ubuntu0.24.04.3
```

- Restart the VM (or gdm)

Downgrading mesa fixes it

```
sudo apt-get install --allow-downgrades \
  libgl1-mesa-dri=25.2.8-0ubuntu0.24.04.2 \
  libegl-mesa0=25.2.8-0ubuntu0.24.04.2 \
  libgbm1=25.2.8-0ubuntu0.24.04.2 \
  libglx-mesa0=25.2.8-0ubuntu0.24.04.2 \
  mesa-libgallium=25.2.8-0ubuntu0.24.04.2 \
  mesa-vulkan-drivers=25.2.8-0ubuntu0.24.04.2
```
