Client: Microsoft Windows App on macOS (H264 AVC444/AVC420 negotiated)

gnome-remote-desktop 50.2-0ubuntu0.1, mutter 50.1-0ubuntu2.4,
gnome-shell 50.1-0ubuntu1.3, gdm3 50.1-0ubuntu0.1, mesa 26.0.8-1ubuntu0.3,
pipewire 1.6.2-1ubuntu1.2, freerdp 3.32.0
What happens:
After upgrading to 50.2, RDP authenticates and the session is redirected, but
the
client shows only a black screen. The login screen never appears.
Evidence:
- 50.0-0ubuntu2 -> 50.2 -> 50.0 -> 50.2 -> 50.0: black screen on 50.2 both
times,
working login and desktop on 50.0, same client config and credentials.
- Server logs are identical in both cases: greeter session created, VAAPI
initialized
(Mesa 26.0.8, radeonsi), RDPGFX caps accepted, "Added virtual monitor Meta-0",
"Registering display with GDM". No errors or warnings logged on the failing
run.
- Daemon CPU is normal during the black screen, and the TCP connection stays
established.
- dpkg -V shows no modified conffiles.
Possibly relevant: the 50.2 changelog drops the patch
"rdp-pipewire-stream: Only try to use sync timelines when u..." as applied
upstream.
Related but different reports I found: Launchpad #2156893 (credential changes
ignored
until daemon restart), #2154408 (handover daemon autostart).
