I can independently reproduce this on another Dell Latitude 7450,
including with the current Ubuntu 24.04.5 LTS (Noble HWE) kernel and
USBIO packages.
System:
- Dell Latitude 7450
- BIOS: 1.24.0 (2026-05-25)
- Ubuntu 24.04.5 LTS
- kernel: 7.0.0-38-generic
- USBIO bridge: 2ac1:20c9 SLS Lattice AI USB 2.0
- camera sensor reported by IPU6: OVTI02E1:00 / OV02E10
- linux-modules-usbio-generic-hwe-24.04: 7.0.0-38.38~24.04.4
- oem-somerville-oddish-meta: 24.04ubuntu5
- Secure Boot: disabled
I initially reproduced this on 7.0.0-34-generic, then upgraded to
7.0.0-38-generic and retested. The problem remains unchanged.
IPU6 discovers the sensor:
intel-ipu6 0000:00:05.0: Found supported sensor OVTI02E1:00
intel-ipu6 0000:00:05.0: Connected 1 cameras
However, INT3472 repeatedly fails to resolve the USBIO GPIO provider:
int3472-discrete INT3472:01: cannot find GPIO chip INTC10D1:00, deferring
int3472-discrete INT3472:0c: cannot find GPIO chip INTC10D1:00, deferring
and eventually:
platform INT3472:01: deferred probe pending: int3472-discrete: Failed to
get GPIO
platform INT3472:0c: deferred probe pending: int3472-discrete: Failed to
get GPIO
This reproduces consistently on every boot.
The USBIO and camera-related modules are loaded, including:
gpio_usbio
i2c_usbio
usbio
ov02e10
intel_skl_int3472_discrete
The downstream symptoms are consistent with the sensor never binding:
- no `/dev/v4l-subdev*` devices are created;
- `media-ctl -d /dev/media0 -p` contains the generic IPU6 CSI2/capture entities
but no OV02E10 sensor entity;
- the OV02E10 CamHAL configuration is installed at
`/etc/camera/ipu6epmtl/sensors/ov02e10-uf.xml`;
- nevertheless, `gst-inspect-1.0 icamerasrc` exposes only:
ar0234_usb_1
ar0234_usb_2
ar0234_usb_3
ar0234_usb_4
rather than the built-in OV02E10 sensor;
- as a downstream consequence, the v4l2-relayd/PipeWire camera presented to
applications does not provide a functioning live stream.
This therefore looks like an independent reproduction of the
INTC10D1/USBIO binding problem described in this bug, including on the
current Noble HWE 7.0.0-38 packages.
I have this affected Latitude 7450 available and would be happy to test
the attached USBIO patch and/or an Ubuntu `-proposed` build. I can
provide before/after kernel logs, media graph output, CamHAL device
enumeration, and actual frame-capture verification.
In particular, I can promptly perform SRU verification on this hardware
if a proposed Noble build becomes available. Please let me know if there
is a preferred test build or verification procedure.
I can also provide additional ACPI/DMI information or run `apport-
collect` if useful.
