I don't think that the correct fix for this is to obfuscate the fact that 'mkdir' is from uutils.
I expect most readers, upon reading "coreutils," will assume the implementation is from GNU coreutils. Perhaps that will change in the future, as Canonical seems to wish, but that is the way things are as it stands. My concern is that we, the maintainers of GNU coreutils, will receive bug reports from people who mistakenly believe they are using GNU coreutils when they are, in fact, using an implementation from uutils, which has historically had more issues with incorrect permissions. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2169228 Title: mkdir: --version not recognised by Autoconf 2.69 AC_PROG_MKDIR_P, falls back to relative install-sh (breaks atheme-services FTBFS) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/atheme-services/+bug/2169228/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
