Hi Eduard, it's actually a good idea with the MR.
But it's on a stale version, has some conflicts inside, hence would need to be
updated - but the biggest issue is that it's around 4k lines massive and with
that it will highly likely not be acceptable by the Ubuntu "Stable Release
Upgrade" (SRU) team (guideline say that minimal patches are needed) - not for a
stable and published Ubuntu version.

So this needs to be included in the current devel version first, and
then backported - hence again an SRU guideline says that we have to
avoid potential upgrade regressions (which would happen if we have a fix
in jammy/22.04 but not in stonking/26.04).

So we need to take a different approach and get it fixed in the newest version
first, but we are already in the beta freeze, hence it needs to be fixed in the
upcoming 27.04 first.
And to do that, it is best to fix it in Debian unstable first, since at the
beginning of a new release we sync/merge certain packages from Debian.

I opened a bug and submitted the patch(es) via Debian BTS (zlib is
unfortunately not in Salsa)
under "zlib: s390x CRC-32 crcvx optimization not built: contrib/crc32vx
stripped from orig".
