Correction / additional information: I overlooked that this machine was upgraded from Ubuntu 24.04 LTS to 26.04 on 2026-09-30 (/var/log/dist-upgrade/ shows the upgrade ran 19:26-19:57 local time, CEST). The apport data confirms it: "UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to resolute on 2026-09-30".
Corrected timeline: - 7.0.0-31 on 24.04: ~3 weeks without loops (max 3 suspend entries per hour). - 7.0.0-34 on 24.04 (2026-09-29 09:08 to 2026-09-30 20:00): no loop (9 suspend entries in total). - Release upgrade to 26.04 on 2026-09-30, reboot at 20:00 on the SAME kernel 7.0.0-34: first loop at ~21:05 that evening, further loops on 2026-10-01 (19:23 to 00:18). - 7.0.0-38 installed 2026-10-02: loop continues. So the kernel version alone does not seem to be the trigger. The loop started with the release upgrade, which also changed userspace (systemd/logind, power management, etc.). Please do not read the kernel list in the description as a pure kernel regression; the package may need to be retargeted. The rest of the findings (wake IRQ 9, ACPI GPE 0x6D, workaround acpi_mask_gpe=0x6D) are unchanged. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2169388 Title: ThinkBook 16 G8 IAL (21SK): s2idle suspend/resume loop after lid close, wake IRQ 9 (ACPI GPE 0x6D), ~20%/h battery drain To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2169388/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
