Public bug reported:
The cinnamon package recommends `cinnamon-core`. I only now just
realized that `cinnamon-core` recommends `desktop-base`, which places
defaults for /etc/skel/.face and sets the profile picture to Debian on
Ubuntu Cinnamon images (and new installations).
This has probably been going on since installing recommends was enabled
by default a few years ago..
Fix is to drop cinnamon-core as a recommend. I'll need to reevaluate the
dependency list, but everything cinnamon-core depends on is something cinnamon
does, with a couple exceptions:
- gnome-terminal | x-terminal-emulator
- slick-greeter | lightdm | x-display-manager
- xserver-xorg
