Confirmed. The loop is in contains_dotdot in libfreerdp/utils/cliprdr_utils.c, added in 3.32.0 by 6fc1b5d4a2. When a '.' is not followed by another '.', it continues without advancing, so any file name containing a single dot spins forever. A standalone call to cliprdr_parse_file_list with one such descriptor reproduces it on 3.32.0.
Fixed upstream by b730d80370, released in 3.32.1: https://github.com/FreeRDP/FreeRDP/issues/13525 This is a regression from the 3.32.0 security update and affects Noble, Resolute and Stonking, on both the server (gnome-remote-desktop) and client (Remmina, xfreerdp) side. Workaround: disable clipboard redirection in the client. ** Changed in: freerdp3 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => High ** Tags added: regression-update ** Bug watch added: freerdp-issues #13525 https://github.com/FreeRDP/FreeRDP/issues/13525 ** Summary changed: - gnome-remote-desktop hangs (100% CPU) in cliprdr_parse_file_list when an RDP client copies files + freerdp3 3.32.0 regression: endless loop parsing clipboard file lists freezes RDP when copying files -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2169143 Title: freerdp3 3.32.0 regression: endless loop parsing clipboard file lists freezes RDP when copying files To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/freerdp3/+bug/2169143/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
