** Description changed: BugLink: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2169680 [ Impact ] Zen 6 EPP values need further tuning for better performance/efficiency. + This is a follow-up from LP: #2167558 [ Fix ] Cherry-pick the following patch: - cpufreq: amd-pstate: Update Zen6 client EPP tuning values[1] This hasn't been included in the pm trees, but is in the pull request of amd-pstate driver sent out for 7.4[2] [ Test ] This can be tested by hooking into event "amd_cpu:amd_pstate_epp_perf" with ftrace: $ trace-cmd stream -e amd_cpu:amd_pstate_epp_perf When toggling /sys/device/system/cpu/cpufreq/policyX/energy_performance_preference, the tracepoint ouput shows the EPP values changed to the values accordingly (performance, balance_performance, balance_power, power respectively): 1. performance core: 25, 51, 64, 115 2. efficiency core: 25, 64, 64, 64 [ Where problems could occur ] There's no Zen 6 product in the field yet. So technically nothing to regress from. [ Additional information] [1] https://lore.kernel.org/all/[email protected]/ [2] https://lore.kernel.org/all/[email protected]/
