Public bug reported:
## Setup
- Lenovo ThinkPad P1 Gen 7 (21KVCTO1WW), BIOS N48ET34W (1.21)
- Realtek ALC287 + TI TAS2781 (`i2c-TIAS2781:00`,
`snd_hda_scodec_tas2781_i2c`), SOF `skl_hda_dsp_generic`
- Ubuntu 26.04, kernel 7.0.0-38-generic, PipeWire 1.6.2, WirePlumber 0.5.13
## Steps
1. Play audio with headphones in the 3.5 mm jack (UCM profile with Headphones
active).
2. Unplug. The card switches to the Speaker profile, PipeWire closes the
Headphones PCM and opens the Speaker PCM, and the stream keeps RUNNING on the
Speaker sink.
## Result
Speakers are silent. Everything looks correct in userspace:
- Speaker sink RUNNING, not muted, 'Speaker Playback Switch' on, Master on
- TAS2781 runtime PM `active`
- no kernel messages
`pactl suspend-sink <speaker sink> 1; sleep 1; pactl suspend-sink
<speaker sink> 0` (close + reopen of the PCM) restores sound
immediately.
## Expected
The amp is (re)enabled by the HDA playback hook whenever the speaker PCM opens,
including right after another PCM on the same codec was closed.
## Guess
An ordering/race between ACT_CLOSE of the old stream and ACT_OPEN of the new
one in `tas2781_hda_playback_hook()` (the close powers the amp down
after/around the open), possibly combined with the 3 s runtime autosuspend.
