Public bug reported: liberasurecode 1.6.3-2 (main) fails to build in stonking on all architectures, so it has been stuck in proposed for 137 days:
include/erasurecode/alg_sig.h:60:5: error: type of 'liberasurecode_crc32_alt' does not match original declaration [-Werror=lto-type-mismatch] utils/chksum/crc32.c:92:1: note: type 'size_t' should match type 'int' The header declares the size parameter as int, while the function is defined (and always was) with size_t. It is a real bug, which LTO now turns into a build failure. It is fixed upstream in 1.6.4 by https://opendev.org/openstack/liberasurecode/commit/e97809b89ee352fb55284a905670e19e7586f2c6 (upstream bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/liberasurecode/+bug/2051613). Debian unstable still has 1.6.3-2, so the problem is the same there. The "dh: error: Unknown sequence /usr/share/openstack-pkg- tools/pkgos.make" lines in the build log are harmless (an optional -include in debian/rules) and not the cause. Fix: cherry-pick the upstream commit (only include/erasurecode/alg_sig.h changes). Tested in a stonking container: 1.6.3-2ubuntu1 with the patch builds fine. ** Affects: liberasurecode (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: ftbfs update-excuse ** Tags added: ftbfs update-excuse -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2169693 Title: liberasurecode 1.6.3-2 FTBFS: liberasurecode_crc32_alt declaration mismatch (-Werror=lto-type-mismatch) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/liberasurecode/+bug/2169693/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
