That's okay Nick. I get the sense that some inter-project congealing of opinions and design needs to somehow happen, and that probably can't be rushed anyway.
When you get back to it, I'd start with the ext4-linux thread with the patch from Nandakumar Raghavan from MS. His patch doesn't cover the device mapper case, where systemd-udev doesn't take even take the shared lock, but the thread is very good. He and others there understand and describe the issues better than I can and better than what I've seen from the systemd bug report to date. https://lore.kernel.org/linux- ext4/20260824224006.GB6038@frogsfrogsfrogs/t/#mbdeb6a4105ae9f3bd77e9e9906c5cdf100cdc5cb -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2160558 Title: udevd and fsck contend causing the prior to miss fs uuids To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/systemd/+bug/2160558/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
